Committed to the ultimate off road potential, the E450MTBD is a machine that inspires fun and adventure. While the enemy of kids MTB's is typically sluggish handling and heavy weight, the ByK E450-MTBD is seriously light and has the performance to rival a World Cup bike.
Like the entire ByK Range, this is not a scaled down adult bike. Every single component has been considered, tested, custom sized and tuned to suit our rider's profile. Our unique ergonomic riding position and geometry offer a range of riding positions and adjustability unexpected at this size.
We have weighed every single component, measured to a millimeter the geometry and ergonomics and tested on every trail we could find. Our long list of premium components is outstanding.
We have broadened the range of our world class cassette gears 8 speed. We have designed our off-road compatible suspension forks to be compliant and absorbing yet offer handling characteristics that cater for enthusiastic riders. Plus with the great weight savings over comparable bike sizes with clunky suspension offerings, the advantages to the rider of all levels is truly enhanced.
Everything has been considered to make this bike perform in a class of its own. The ByK E450MTBD re-defines MTB fun for kids.
From our responsive handling to increased safety at speed, the ByK MTB Kids Mountain Bike range sets new standards in safety. The innovative frame improves balance and control to help each rider operate at the safest level possible.
To make a children's bike safe, the rider needs to be able to brake efficiently and confidently. The custom-sized Disc-Brakes we have used are calibrated for age, ability and ergonomic fit. And they are made of non-flexing, strong and light alloy. Our light weight alloy rims ensure pedalling is easier, and are therefore safer.

The most accurate way to determine any bike’s weight is to have your local dealer weigh it for you. Many brands strive to list the lowest possible weight, but in reality weight can vary based on size, finish, hardware and accessories. All our bikes are designed for best-in-class weight and ride quality.
When it comes to choosing the right size kids bike, our over-riding advice is 'smaller is better than bigger'. Children learn to ride with greater ease, have more control on the bike and have a lot more fun if they are the master of their domain.
It is all too common to see parents using height as the only key measurement for a bike's correct size. Be careful: it can easily be misleading as an indicator. As most kids' balance develops at roughly the same speed, using age with ability is far more relevant. If you can add age, with height, and ability (ability is a hard one to measure but as a parent you must be honest and realistic) and confidence, than you have a really good indicator.
The most common reason kids have to move up a size on a normal bike is because of the lack of knee room between the seat and handlebars. This forces you to put up the seat and then your child loses interest or confidence in riding because the centre of gravity is really high and hence the bike becomes even more difficult to ride.
